Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts (specific start/end times not provided). Schedule may include day, evening, or night coverage depending on unit needs; RN - L&D

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to laboring patients and their families
Monitor maternal and fetal status, interpreting fetal strips and communicating changes
Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate safe deliveries
Perform timely assessments and intervene appropriately for emergent situations
Educate patients and families on labor progress, pain management options, postpartum care, and newborn basics
Document care accurately and thoroughly in the medical record

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) with active licensure in accordance with state requirements
Experience or demonstrated interest in Labor & Delivery nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; specialty certifications (for example NRP or neonatal/OB certifications) are a plus
Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and the ability to act calmly in high-acuity situations
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient care

Education

Nursing degree (ADN or BSN) required; BSN preferred where applicable

Knowledge & Skills

Familiarity with fetal monitoring and intrapartum assessment
Proficiency in maternal/newborn clinical care standards
Comfortable with emergency response protocols for obstetric events
Skilled in patient education and family-centered care
Ability to use electronic health record systems for documentation
