Shift Type: 12-hour shifts with various start times (7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM), every other weekend required, holiday rotation

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $76 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population including strokes, abdominal pain, orthopedic injuries, and behavioral health cases
Utilize Cerner (FirstNet) for accurate patient charting and care coordination
Collaborate with physicians, midlevels, and support staff in a fast-paced 15-bed ER with a 6-bed fast track (open 9am-10pm)
Assume charge nurse role as needed, managing patient assignments and supporting the team
Monitor patient telemetry strips via Philips system with central monitoring support from ICU
Ensure high-quality care for approximately 100 patient visits per day, including 500-600 pediatric patients per month

Qualifications

Must have 3-5 years of emergency room experience
Current California RN license in good standing
Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS
Level III trauma experience or above preferred
Proficiency with Cerner (FirstNet) electronic medical record system preferred
Ability to handle high patient volume and work effectively in a team

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of emergency nursing protocols, triage, and trauma assessment
Skilled in managing critically ill patients, including those on ventilators
Comfortable caring for both adult and pediatric patients across a wide range of conditions
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with interdisciplinary teams
Ability to adapt to varying patient acuity and fast-paced environment
