Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform imaging examinations across modalities with precision and care
• Position patients for optimal image quality while ensuring comfort and safety
• Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment, calling for repairs when needed
• Administer contrast media appropriately and safely for different age groups
• Maintain high standards of radiation safety and shielding for patients and staff
• Document procedures, maintain records, and uphold patient confidentiality
• Respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations
• Support department operations including patient scheduling and supply management
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement activities to enhance services
• Share on-call and weekend responsibilities equitably with the team

Qualifications

• Current California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) licensure required
• Graduate of an accredited radiology program; Associate of Science degree preferred
• BLS certification required
• ARRT certification preferred
• Experience in at least two imaging modalities required
• Acute Care experience preferred; experience in a freestanding diagnostic imaging facility may substitute
• Ability to cover shared evenings and weekend call as scheduled
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision

Education

• Associate of Science degree (Graduate of an accredited radiology program)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency performing imaging examinations across all modalities, including radiography and CT
• Expertise in patient positioning and producing consistently high-quality images
• Familiarity with equipment operation, troubleshooting, and safety standards
• Knowledge of contrast media administration and age-appropriate adjustments
• Understanding of radiation safety, shielding, and regulatory compliance
• Strong documentation, record-keeping, and confidentiality practices
• Ability to respond effectively in emergencies and maintain safe working conditions
• Comfort participating in CQI processes and department compliance activities
