Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare and dispense medications accurately and efficiently
Support pharmacists by filling orders, labeling medications, and managing inventory
Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow aseptic technique where required
Document dispensing activities and update medication records in the pharmacy system
Communicate professionally with clinical staff to support patient care
Participate in quality assurance and safety initiatives to reduce errors

Qualifications

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or state-registered Pharmacy Technician preferred
High school diploma or equivalent required; pharmacy technician certificate preferred
Previous pharmacy technician experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred
Ability to read, understand, and accurately follow medication orders and labels
Willingness to complete required background check, drug screen, and any site-specific onboarding
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and good communication skills

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; pharmacy technician certificate or formal training preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Medication preparation and dispensing best practices
Familiarity with pharmacy inventory management and controlled substance handling
Comfort using pharmacy dispensing systems and basic computer skills
Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
Good interpersonal skills for collaborating with pharmacists and clinical teams
