Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare patients for nuclear medicine studies and perform high-quality diagnostic scans using established protocols
Administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and document doses in accordance with radiation safety standards
Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment including gamma cameras and dose calibrators; report and track issues
Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure compliance with safety and PPE requirements
Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and care teams to support timely patient care
Participate in teaching and instructional activities to support staff development and patient education

Qualifications

Current Hawaiʻi license as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (required)
Current BLS/HCP certification (required)
One (1) year of nuclear medicine experience preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of nuclear medicine physics, radiopharmaceutical administration, and safety protocols
Strong communication and critical thinking skills; comfortable working independently in a single-tech setting

Education

Current Hawaiʻi Nuclear Medicine Technologist license
Current BLS/HCP certification

Knowledge & Skills

Nuclear medicine imaging and radiopharmaceutical administration
Radiation safety and monitoring
Gamma camera operation and dose calibrator use
Equipment troubleshooting and maintenance
Patient preparation and age-appropriate care
Use of survey meters, well counters, and thyroid uptake probes
Single-tech operations and independent practice
Teaching, instruction, and clear clinical communication
