Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Brooklyn Park, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (as needed), days vary / as scheduled, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate personal care and support for geriatric residents
Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
Monitor and document resident condition, reporting changes to the care team
Support mealtime assistance and safe feeding as needed
Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
Work collaboratively with nursing staff to carry out individualized care plans

Qualifications

Valid GNA certification required
Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred but not required
Ability to work the 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM shift and adapt to per diem scheduling
Willingness to complete facility onboarding, background check, and required immunizations
Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused attitude

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of ADLs and basic resident care practices
Comfortable with documentation and basic charting
Infection control and safe hygiene practices
Safe patient transfer and mobility assistance techniques
Good teamwork, observation, and communication skills with residents and families
