Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform the full range of general urology care, including laparoscopic procedures and minimally invasive techniques
• Provide surgical care in both hospital OR and outpatient surgery center (including da Vinci robotic platforms)
• Manage inpatient consults and participate in a 1:4 call rotation to support patient access and continuity
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families, delivering excellent clinical outcomes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across specialties to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
• Contribute to practice growth and clinical leadership as the group expands urologic services
• Participate in teaching and mentoring of medical students and residents as desired

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree and completion of an ACGME-accredited Urology residency
• Board certified or board eligible in Urology
• Eligible for or holding an active Michigan medical license (or ability to obtain one)
• Proven skills in laparoscopic surgery; robotic (da Vinci) experience is a strong plus
• Excellent clinical communication and leadership skills; ability to work within a busy, collegial group
• Comfortable using Epic EHR (Covenant has been an Epic user for ~15 years)
• Willingness to participate in a 1:4 call schedule
• Open to H-1B visa candidates; J-1 waiver candidates cannot be accepted; locums candidates not accepted

Education

• MD or DO
• Completion of Urology residency (ACGME-accredited)
• Fellowship training in urologic subspecialty (e.g., uro-oncology) is a plus but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong competence in general urology and laparoscopic surgical techniques
• Familiarity with robotic surgical platforms (da Vinci) and minimally invasive tools like ARTIS pheno
• Proficient use of Epic EHR for clinic and hospital workflows
• Excellent patient- and family-centered communication and bedside manner
• Ability to collaborate with surgical subspecialists, hospital teams, and advanced practice providers
• Teaching and mentoring skills for medical students and residents
