Roles & Responsibilities

Scrub in on life-saving CVOR procedures across all patient populations from neonate to geriatric
Function independently within protocols to support the surgical team
Execute unit tasks assigned by RNs with precision and care
Maintain patient confidentiality with sound judgment and diplomacy

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist
Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) specialty experience required
BCLS Certification
National Certification by approved body such as NBSTSA-CST, NCCT-TS-C, AST, NBSTSA, or STSA

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (required for hires post-2009)

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient scrub responsibilities for diverse patient ages
Strong computer and keyboarding skills
Tact, diplomacy, and independent functioning in fast-paced OR environment
