Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility)
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
• Assist with safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
• Document care promptly and clearly in residents' charts or electronic records
• Observe, communicate, and escalate changes in condition to nurses and supervisors
• Support a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, following infection control procedures
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification valid in Pennsylvania
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks, TB testing, and required immunizations
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Reliable attendance and ability to perform physical aspects of the role

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a state-approved CNA program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care and assistance with ADLs
• Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
• Infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Clear, timely documentation and good record-keeping
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow care plans and work within a multidisciplinary team
