Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and support to residents, making each day safer and more comfortable
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding with dignity
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly and accurately
• Ensure a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Support mobility needs, including safe transfers and ambulation assistance
• Document care activities clearly and timely to maintain accurate resident records
• Collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centered care and improve resident outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification valid in Connecticut
• CPR/BLS certification required or must obtain upon hire
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and basic patient care tasks
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Preferred: prior experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or assisted living settings

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of infection control practices and patient safety standards
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for resident and family interactions
• Ability to perform safe resident handling and transfers
• Basic charting and documentation skills, whether electronic or paper-based
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
