Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 8-hour shift; exact start/end times and scheduled days to be confirmed by the facility (Total hours per shift: 8)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $21 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
Assist residents with personal hygiene, mobility, feeding, and toileting needs
Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents
Document patient care and observations clearly in the facility charting system
Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans

Qualifications

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (Connecticut)
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Current immunizations and TB screening as required by facility policy
Successful background check and drug screening
Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred but new CNAs are welcome

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred; CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of basic nursing care and resident assistance
Infection control and standard precautions
Accurate vital signs measurement and basic clinical observations
Comfortable with documentation and care charting
Teamwork, time management, and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to follow care plans and directions from licensed nursing staff
