Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room and required sterile instruments for a wide variety of surgical cases
• Scrub and assist surgeons across service lines including general, GYN, robotics, neuro, orthopedics, plastic surgery, urology, and burn/trauma
• Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure patient safety throughout perioperative care
• Document perioperative care accurately in Cerner and communicate effectively with the care team
• Perform patient assessments and handoffs to deliver seamless 1:1 perioperative care
• Collaborate with unit staff and leadership to support variable scheduling and on-call needs

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-appropriate)
• Minimum 2+ years of perioperative or operating room nursing experience
• Broad surgical knowledge across multiple service lines as listed in the posting
• Comfortable working with Cerner electronic documentation
• Willingness to float to other departments and participate in call rotation
• Certifications required: None specified by the facility

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing and operating room workflows
• Experience with scrub and circulating roles in surgery
• Familiarity with robotics and specialty surgical procedures
• Proficient documentation skills in Cerner
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient safety focus
• Ability to manage high-acuity cases and variable case mix
