Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic sonographic examinations (abdominal and OB/GYN) for radiologist interpretation
• Provide compassionate, age-appropriate patient care across the lifespan from newborns to geriatrics
• Maintain accurate patient records, paperwork, and departmental files
• Participate in and take responsibility for departmental quality assurance activities
• Care for ultrasound transducers and maintain neat, organized work area
• Assist with ultrasound invasive procedures and preparation of related policies and procedures
• Support accreditation efforts and pursue continuing education to meet credentialing requirements
• Rotate shifts as required and assume department responsibility in the absence of a supervisor

Qualifications

• Current ARDMS certification in at least one category (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association (required)
• Able to perform all diagnostic exams related to assigned modality (ABD/OB/GYN and related fields)
• Willingness to learn additional imaging modalities as directed by management
• Ability to work well under stress and collaborate across cultural and religious backgrounds
• Travel flexibility: may be required to provide services to various SEARHC sites

Education

• Current ARDMS in one category (explicit requirement listed)

Knowledge & Skills

• Diagnostic medical sonography (abdominal and OB/GYN focus)
• Patient assessment across age ranges and excellent patient-care skills
• Quality assurance processes and documentation
• Transducer care and Trophon station maintenance
• Familiarity with accreditation processes and continuing education requirements
• Professional ethics, compliance, and strong customer service orientation
