Roles & Responsibilities

Provide skilled respiratory care and therapies to patients in line with physician orders
Assess patient respiratory status and implement appropriate interventions
Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory equipment with attention to safety
Deliver airway management, oxygen therapy, and aerosol treatments effectively
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
Document assessments, treatments and patient responses accurately in the medical record
Participate in orientation and training activities to support unit continuity

Qualifications

Current state license or credential required for Respiratory Therapists (RRT or CRT as applicable)
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS preferred or as required by facility
Prior acute care respiratory experience preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills and familiarity with mechanical ventilation
Ability to pass facility onboarding and orientation requirements

Education

Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent clinical training; completion of an accredited RT program
Credentialed (CRT/RRT) and licensed per state requirements

Knowledge & Skills

Mechanical ventilator management and troubleshooting
Airway management and oxygen delivery systems
Arterial blood gas interpretation and respiratory assessment
Competent documentation in electronic medical records
Clear communication and teamwork in fast-paced clinical settings
