Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and therapies to patients with compassion
• Assess respiratory status and perform treatments such as aerosol therapy and oxygen delivery
• Manage and monitor ventilator settings and respond to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and equipment use
• Document care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Participate in orientation activities to learn unit-specific protocols and workflows

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapy license in Washington (or ability to obtain)
• CRT or RRT credential preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS/PALS a plus depending on unit
• Demonstrated clinical competence in respiratory assessment and therapy
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Comfort working in a fast-paced hospital environment and learning facility-specific procedures during orientation

Education

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent
• RRT credential preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and respiratory care planning
• Airway management and ventilator management skills
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation
• Familiarity with oxygen delivery devices, aerosol therapy, and respiratory equipment
• Accurate clinical documentation and use of electronic medical records
• Strong infection control practices and patient safety focus
