Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage ventilator settings and evaluate patient response to ensure optimal respiratory support
• Perform patient monitoring, interpret ABGs, and adjust therapy as needed
• Deliver breathing treatments and provide non-invasive ventilation support such as BiPAP and CPAP
• Document assessments and interventions in EPIC accurately and in a timely manner
• Float to ICU, PCU, ED and medical floors as needed to support unit needs
• Participate in high-acuity procedures when required, including assistance with intubation and delivery attendance when applicable
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) — required
• ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications — required
• NRP and NICU training — preferred
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG collection and non-invasive ventilation
• Comfortable working night shifts and covering weekend rotations
• Ability to float to ICU/PCU/ED/medical floors; teachable, team-oriented and hardworking

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong hands-on ventilator management and troubleshooting skills
• Proficient with BiPAP, CPAP and other non-invasive ventilation modes
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and interpretation
• Patient monitoring in high-acuity settings
• Experience documenting in EPIC EMR
• Ability to perform breathing treatments and support intubation when required
