Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions and prioritize care with confidence and clinical judgment
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute patient care plans
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes clearly in the medical record
• Provide patient and family education to promote recovery, safety, and well-being
• Advocate for patients while maintaining a compassionate, patient-centered approach

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license appropriate for practice in Alabama (or compact license where applicable)
• Clinical experience or comfort working on a Medical/Surgical unit
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications encouraged
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and function effectively in a fast-paced hospital setting

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing practices and patient care standards
• Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration, and basic wound care
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Ability to triage, prioritize, and respond to changing patient needs
• Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal and patient education skills
