Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the medical-surgical unit
Perform thorough patient assessments and develop safe, effective care plans
Administer medications and treatments accurately while monitoring patient response
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and improve outcomes
Document care clearly and timely in the patient record
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care

Qualifications

Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact RN where applicable)
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred
Experience or strong interest in Medical-Surgical nursing
Solid clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Ability to complete required orientation and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in patient assessment and clinical documentation
Medication administration and safe IV/infusion management
Familiarity with electronic health record systems and charting best practices
Strong teamwork, time management, and patient advocacy skills
Ability to respond to changing patient conditions and escalate appropriately
