Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in labor and delivery units
Assess and monitor maternal and fetal status, intervening promptly when needed
Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and the care team to support safe deliveries
Educate and support patients and families through labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care
Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
Participate in unit initiatives to improve patient outcomes and workflow efficiency

Qualifications

Active RN license in Louisiana or eligibility to obtain state licensure
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and/or perinatal certifications preferred
Prior labor & delivery clinical experience preferred (listed as a plus)
Strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or equivalent; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of labor progress assessment and fetal monitoring interpretation
Skilled in maternal and neonatal emergency response and interventions
Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
Ability to provide compassionate patient education and emotional support
Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams
