Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide urgent, high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department with speed and compassion
• Perform rapid assessments, triage, and interventions to stabilize patients
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams—physicians, techs, and support staff—to deliver seamless care
• Administer medications, manage lines and advanced interventions per protocol
• Document patient status and care accurately and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Advocate for patient safety, infection control, and best-practice ED workflows

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in Louisiana or via compact where applicable)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Experience or demonstrated competency in Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing
• Strong critical thinking, rapid decision-making, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred
• Completion of accredited nursing program and state licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and rapid patient assessment skills
• Proficiency in acute care procedures and emergency equipment
• Effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize care under pressure while maintaining patient-centered focus
• Knowledge of infection control, safety protocols, and ED best practices
