Roles & Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for exams, creating a welcoming and respectful environment
• Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories and patient information accurately
• Assist clinicians during exams and procedures with professionalism and attention to detail
• Perform basic clinical tasks such as specimen collection and point-of-care testing as trained
• Document patient encounters and maintain accurate records in the electronic health record
• Coordinate patient flow and help manage appointment logistics to keep the clinic running smoothly
• Maintain clinical supplies and ensure exam rooms are clean, organized and stocked
• Provide clear patient education and instructions in a compassionate, patient-centered way

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Previous clinical experience preferred (new grads considered depending on role)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working in a team
• Ability to follow protocols, maintain patient confidentiality and comply with state regulations

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with taking vitals and basic clinical assessments
• Experience with specimen collection and basic point-of-care testing
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and clinical documentation
• Knowledge of infection control, HIPAA and patient safety best practices
• Excellent patient communication, customer service and organizational skills
