Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly
- Accurately document care provided and maintain clear communication with the care team
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
- Support family communication and participate in team care planning
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- State of Maryland eligibility or certification preferred
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently on per-diem shifts
- Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong resident care skills and practical knowledge of ADLs
- Basic infection control and safety practices
- Clear verbal and written communication
- Teamwork and ability to collaborate with nursing staff
- Time management and reliable documentation habits
- Compassionate bedside manner and respect for resident dignity
