Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem / Varied schedule (days vary), 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and kindness
Provide safe, hands-on support for mobility and transfers
Monitor and record vital signs and resident status accurately
Document care and communicate changes to nurses and care team promptly
Support mealtime assistance and basic feeding as needed
Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
Build trusting relationships with residents and engage them in meaningful ways

Qualifications

GNA certification required
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
Comfortable working night shifts and adapting to per diem scheduling
Previous experience or demonstrated comfort working with geriatric populations preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the care team
Reliable, compassionate, and patient-centered approach to care

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-preserving practices
Basic knowledge of ADLs, mobility assistance, and fall prevention
Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
Comfortable with basic charting and documentation
Good observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
Effective teamwork, time management, and prioritization
