Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and compassion
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Monitor and record vital signs and resident status accurately
- Document care and communicate changes to the nursing team promptly
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
- Follow infection control protocols and facility policies at all times
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful interaction
- Collaborate with the care team to promote resident independence and well-being
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (State of Pennsylvania) — required
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus
- Ability to pass background check, TB screening, and required immunizations
- Strong communication skills and a heart for compassionate care
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively on a care team
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completed CNA training program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on resident care and ADL support
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
- Infection control practices and safe patient handling
- Comfortable using electronic health record basics or paper charting
- Excellent interpersonal skills and empathy
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
