Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on resident care that preserves dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding) safely and respectfully
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Document care and observations clearly in the resident chart or electronic health record
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and the care team to support individualized care plans
• Follow infection control, safety, and facility policies to protect residents and staff
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through compassionate communication

Qualifications

• Valid CNA certification in Connecticut (required)
• Completion of a state-approved nurse aide training program
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening per facility policy
• Up-to-date immunizations and health screening documentation as required
• Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven skills in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and basic observations
• Familiarity with infection control and patient safety principles
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families, and team members
• Basic electronic charting or paper charting proficiency
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nursing staff
