Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
- Measure and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
- Support safe transfers and positioning while following proper body mechanics
- Communicate clearly with nurses, family members, and interdisciplinary team
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control practices
- Document resident care accurately in the facility record system
- Participate in care planning and resident-centered activities to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working with older adults and those with chronic conditions
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility health requirements
- Excellent communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
- Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Required: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamentals of resident personal care and hygiene
- Vital signs measurement and basic clinical observation
- Safe transfer and lifting techniques
- Infection control and standard precautions
- Basic electronic or paper charting practices
- Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork
