Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate basic care to residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing and toileting
Take and record vital signs and report changes in condition promptly
Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics
Document care accurately and communicate effectively with the nursing team
Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful interaction

Qualifications

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — active or eligible in Connecticut
Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Compassionate patient-focused attitude and strong communication skills
Reliable, punctual, and able to work an 8-hour shift as scheduled
Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

Fundamentals of resident care and personal support
Basic vital sign measurement and observation skills
Safe transfer and mobility techniques
Infection control and safety practices
Clear, professional communication and teamwork
Basic documentation and charting skills
