Roles & Responsibilities

• Greet and room patients, obtain vital signs, height/weight, and pulse oximetry
• Review and document current medications, allergies, and patient history in Epic/CS-Link
• Prepare exam and procedure rooms and clean/re-process equipment per department guidelines
• Perform venipuncture and blood/lab draws; collect and prepare specimens as directed
• Administer immunizations, injections, or oral medications under provider direction
• Assist with department-specific data tracking and follow-up phone calls
• Explain procedures, policies, and visit expectations to patients within your scope
• Support office duties including telephone triage, pharmacy refill requests, and referral coordination

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from a DAPIP-accredited program OR national MA certification (AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, or MMCI)
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient clinic or medical office
• Proficiency in venipuncture/phlebotomy and blood/lab draws
• Experience with CS-Link and Epic charting systems
• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions or declinations
• Phlebotomy certification and Neurology clinic experience are preferred
• Comfortable administering injections and assisting with specialty setups (Botox, EMG) is a plus
• Local candidates strongly preferred

Education

• High School Diploma or GED
• Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma (DAPIP-accredited) or national certification (AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, MMCI)

Knowledge & Skills

• Venipuncture and phlebotomy techniques
• Taking and interpreting vital signs and basic physical measurements
• Charting and documentation in Epic and CS-Link
• Specimen collection and lab submission processes (including Quest Diagnostics)
• Immunizations and administering injections
• Medical terminology and medication reconciliation
• Telephone triage and patient follow-up communications
• Pharmacy refill coordination and insurance/referral process familiarity
• Ability to assist with specialty clinic setups such as Botox and EMG
