Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery
Location: Grand Island, Nebraska
Start Date: 06-22-2026
End Date: 09-21-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, every other weekend, holidays as needed
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $71 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for laboring patients with 1:1 ratios
- Monitor and titrate critical drips including Pitocin and Magnesium
- Deliver exceptional postpartum and antepartum nursing care
- Support patients through high-risk pregnancies including hypertension and diabetes
- Collaborate with the care team on post-surgical GYN patients
- Maintain the unit's Blue Distinction+ standards for patient experience
Qualifications
- Active BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 3 years of labor and delivery experience
- Valid driver's license for radius verification
- Must pass open-book skills exam with 90% or higher during orientation
- No artificial nails permitted in patient care areas
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong labor and delivery expertise
- Postpartum and antepartum care proficiency
- Experience with titration of drips
- Comfortable working within AWHONN staffing guidelines
- Ability to provide care across the full spectrum of obstetric needs
