Surgical Technologist - CVOR

Location: Midland, Michigan

Start Date: 06-29-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Variable Day Shifts, Monday-Sunday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM with 40-hour guarantee, every third weekend required, 1-2 call nights per week

Hours per Week: 50

Candidate Pay Rate: $69 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Demonstrate expert knowledge of complex CVOR surgical procedures and anticipate surgeon needs
Maintain sterile field integrity and quickly address any breaks in technique
Assemble and verify all instruments, supplies, and equipment before each case
Accurately track medications, sharps, sponges, and instruments throughout procedures
Float to General OR when CVOR volume is low to support the broader surgical team

Qualifications

Active NBSTSA certification required
Current American Heart Association BLS certification
Minimum 5 years of CVOR experience with open heart cases
Comfortable floating to General OR when needed
Experience at a tertiary care or Level I/II trauma center preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Advanced sterile field management
CVOR and open heart procedure expertise
Equipment assembly and sterilization
Accurate counting and documentation
Problem-solving under pressure
