Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 05-26-2026

End Date: 08-25-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shifts, one weekend every third weekend with Monday and Friday off

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert physical therapy care to 12+ patients daily across medical-surgical, ICU, and ER units
Help patients recover from general medical conditions, joint replacements, spinal surgeries, and strokes
Develop personalized treatment plans that support each patient's unique rehabilitation goals
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the rehab team to deliver coordinated care
Document progress and adjust interventions to maximize patient outcomes
Mentor and guide patients through every step of their recovery journey

Qualifications

Active California Physical Therapist license required
BLS certification needed
Acute inpatient physical therapy experience is essential
Comfort working with diverse patient populations including ortho, neuro, and deconditioned patients

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills
Ability to manage a fast-paced acute care environment
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Compassionate approach to patient-centered care
Flexibility to cover multiple hospital units as needed
