Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert nursing care to orthopedic patients on a 32-room unit
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, and suture/staple removal with precision
• Manage Foley catheters and NG tubes safely and according to protocol
• Maintain and remove Wound VAC devices and monitor site healing
• Document patient care using Cerner EMR accurately and timely
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Assist with mobility and use of equipment (walkers, lifts, CPMs) to promote safe recovery

Qualifications

• Active NC nursing license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (as listed in job details)
• Orthopedic or hospital med-surg experience preferred
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment and providing family-centered care

Knowledge & Skills

• Orthopedic nursing practices and post-op care
• Wound care techniques and Wound VAC management
• Foley catheter and NG tube management
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR
• Familiarity with patient mobility equipment (lifts, Sara Stedy, CPM, etc.)
• Ability to work with established patient ratios and adapt during stretch staffing
