Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and treatments to patients in accordance with facility protocols
• Assess respiratory status, implement care plans, and monitor patient response
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, including ventilators and airway devices
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Document treatments, assessments, and patient progress accurately in the medical record
• Participate in orientation, training, and ongoing competency assessments to maintain excellence

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license (state licensure required or eligible) — Missouri license preferred
• RRT or CRT credential preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support); advanced certifications (e.g., ACLS) preferred or a plus
• Clinical experience in respiratory care; ability to perform patient assessments and airway management
• Able to pass background check and drug screening per facility requirements
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent clinical training

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of ventilator management and respiratory therapy modalities
• Familiarity with patient assessment and arterial blood gas interpretation
• Proficient documentation skills and comfort with electronic medical records
• Infection control practices and safe handling of respiratory equipment
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
