Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage ventilator settings and perform ventilator rounds to optimize respiratory support for critically ill patients
• Provide BiPAP, nebulizer treatments, incentive spirometry and chest physiotherapy to support patient recovery
• Perform patient assessments and apply weaning parameters to advance patients off mechanical ventilation when appropriate
• Operate and troubleshoot equipment such as Servo I ventilators, V60, Airvo and Hillrom vest with confidence
• Collaborate with ICU and pediatric teams to deliver coordinated, high-quality respiratory care
• Document treatments, patient response, and equipment changes accurately in the chart
• Respond to respiratory emergencies and assist during codes with calm, decisive clinical action
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and homecare equipment where applicable

Qualifications

• CRT or RRT required
• ACLS, PALS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience (as listed)
• Strong ICU and pediatric respiratory experience (must-have skills)
• Comfortable with NICU/PICU environments (preferred)
• Proven ability to operate advanced ventilators and noninvasive support devices

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
• BiPAP and noninvasive ventilation
• Nebulizer treatments and airway clearance techniques
• Weaning protocols, incentive spirometry (IS) and chest physiotherapy (CPT)
• Experience with Servo I ventilator, V60, Airvo and Hillrom vest
• Critical care (ICU) and pediatric respiratory care
• Strong clinical assessment and emergency response skills
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and documentation
