Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and treatment to patients in an inpatient setting
• Perform assessments, monitor patient respiratory status, and adjust treatments as needed
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and other respiratory equipment
• Deliver oxygen therapy, airway management, and suctioning with attention to safety
• Document patient care accurately in the medical record and communicate with the care team
• Participate in orientation and training activities to maintain skills and compliance
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT or CRT) required
• State respiratory therapy license for Missouri or eligibility to obtain one
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Comfortable using ventilators and standard respiratory equipment
• Professional, compassionate communicator who thrives in a team environment
• Prior inpatient or acute care experience preferred

Education

• Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent required
• Bachelor Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of ventilator management and airway care
• Ability to perform arterial blood gas sampling and interpret results
• Proficiency with oxygen delivery systems and aerosol therapy
• Skillful clinical assessment and critical thinking
• Accurate documentation and electronic health record familiarity
• Teamwork, time management, and effective communication skills
