Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients in the NICU/PICU
• Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support including high frequency oscillation and specialized devices
• Perform patient assessment and develop individualized respiratory treatment plans
• Deliver medication and aerosolized therapies safely and monitor patient response
• Accurately document assessments and interventions in Meditech
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support complex patient care and family communication
• Assist with transport and emergency respiratory interventions as needed
• Participate in unit-based quality initiatives and maintain infection control standards

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care hospital RRT experience
• Current NICU/PICU experience required or strongly preferred
• Experience with Meditech or willingness to become proficient quickly is preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
• Valid state licensure or ability to obtain licensure for Florida

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong ventilator management skills including conventional and advanced modes
• Familiarity with high flow devices, 3100A, Bunnell, Servo ventilators, and related neonatal equipment
• Skilled in continuous nebulizers, nitric oxide, heliox, BIPAP, and CPT techniques
• Competent in neonatal/pediatric respiratory assessment and tailored interventions
• Accurate and timely clinical documentation practices (Meditech experience a plus)
• Excellent teamwork, critical thinking, and effective communication skills
