Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry continuously and interpret dysrhythmias to guide timely interventions
• Respond as an active member of Rapid Response/Code teams to support patient safety
• Start and maintain IVs, manage PICC/central and peripheral lines, and administer blood products safely
• Administer medications and manage heparin and PCA protocols with precision
• Perform phlebotomy, review labs, and incorporate results into patient care plans
• Provide clear patient education to support recovery and reduce readmissions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners including respiratory, pharmacy, PT, and social services
• Follow isolation precautions and wound care protocols to maintain a safe environment

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass the telemetry test prior to assignment
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Proven IV therapy skills including starting and maintaining IVs; phlebotomy experience preferred
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
• Comfort with floating to other areas as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and remote/onsite rhythm interpretation
• Dysrhythmia management and emergency cardiac response
• IV therapy, PICC/central line care, peripheral line management
• Blood product preparation and administration
• EPIC electronic charting and documentation
• Medication administration and familiarity with heparin protocols and PCA
• Phlebotomy, wound care, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Non-invasive airway management and oxygen therapy
