Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry rhythms and promptly escalate changes to charge RN, manager, rapid response or provider
• Perform med-surg level patient assessments and apply critical thinking to changing acuity
• Administer IV therapy, IV antibiotics and manage enteral/PEG tube feedings safely and accurately
• Document patient care and communicate effectively using Cerner EMR
• Collaborate as a team player to support CNAs and fellow nurses and maintain optimal patient ratios
• Attend shift huddles and follow unit guidelines for breaks, clock-in/out and handoffs

Qualifications

• Active RN credential and clinical experience in telemetry or med-surg nursing
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant nursing experience (telemetry/med-surg)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with telemetry rhythm interpretation and acute patient assessment
• Proven time management, communication and critical thinking skills
• Willingness to work nights and weekend rotations as required by the unit

• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm recognition
• Med-Surg patient assessment and care planning
• IV therapy and IV antibiotic administration
• Enteral and PEG tube feeding management
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR for documentation and handoffs
• Strong critical thinking, time management and teamwork abilities
