Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry and recognize cardiac rhythm changes using remote telemetry systems and VC150 devices
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to med-surg telemetry patients on a busy 36-bed unit
• Accurately document assessments, interventions and handoffs in Cerner using workstation-on-wheels and Tap-and-Go
• Coordinate patient observation (CPO) and sitter needs to keep patients safe and comfortable
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team, support charge nurse duties, and help prepare patients for Endoscopy, IR and OR
• Follow unit guidelines and the HCA mission to provide high-quality care while fostering a team-oriented environment

Qualifications

• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2+ years recent telemetry or med-surg nursing experience
• Experience with medical telemetry and remote telemetry monitoring
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR and VC150 patient observation systems
• CMSRN encouraged (preferred)
• BSN preferred; leadership or charge nurse experience is a plus
• Valid RN licensure per state/facility requirements (travel nurses should ensure appropriate state authorization)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Cerner electronic medical record documentation
• Remote patient observation (CPO) and VC150 system operation
• Strong med-surgical patient care skills and clinical assessment
• Comfortable using workstation-on-wheels and Tap-and-Go workflows
• Excellent communication, teamwork, critical thinking and time management
