Shift Type: Night shift, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (overnight), rotating nights including weekends — every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per pay period. Night huddle at ~18:50; must clock in no earlier than 18:38 for evening shifts.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry rhythms continuously and promptly escalate concerning changes to Charge RN, manager, rapid response or provider
• Perform thorough med-surg patient assessments and implement appropriate nursing interventions
• Administer IV therapy including IV fluids, IV antibiotics and manage PEG/tube feedings safely
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with nurses, CNAs, and ancillary staff to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
• Participate in unit huddles and follow unit guidelines (timely clock-in/clock-out and meal break procedures)
• Maintain clear, professional communication with patients, families and the care team

Qualifications

• Active RN practice for telemetry/med-surg (position listed as RN — standard RN licensure expected)
• Minimum 2+ years of recent nursing experience (telemetry/med-surg preferred)
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification (preferred)
• Proven telemetry rhythm interpretation skills and ability to manage changing acuity
• Experience with IV therapy, tube/PEG feedings and common med-surg procedures
• Familiarity with Cerner or similar EMR
• Dependable, punctual, team-player attitude; willingness to float to other med-surg units or the ED holding pod

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry rhythm recognition and cardiac monitoring best practices
• Med-surgical patient assessment and acuity recognition
• IV therapy management, IV antibiotics, IV fluids and enteral feeding care
• Strong critical thinking and time management under variable workloads
• Clear verbal and written communication with multidisciplinary teams
• Cerner EMR documentation and workflow familiarity
• Ability to work effectively on overnight shifts and during high-acuity periods
