Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry continuously and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms to keep patients safe
• Deliver focused neurosciences nursing care on a 36-bed unit, adjusting to patient acuity
• Perform clinical procedures such as IV starts and Foley insertions with skill and compassion
• Document assessments, interventions and care plans thoroughly in Cerner EMR
• Respond promptly to emergencies using ACLS protocols when needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate excellent patient care
• Provide patient and family education that’s clear, respectful and supportive

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience (as stated in the posting)
• ACLS certification (required)
• NIH stroke scale certification (required)
• Telemetry experience and comfort with continuous cardiac monitoring
• Experience or comfort working on neuro/med-surg units (neuro experience preferred)
• Skill with IV starts and Foley insertion
• Proficiency with Cerner or similar EMR systems
• Outgoing, self-motivated personality who thrives in a collaborative team environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Neuro patient assessment and neuroscience nursing principles
• ACLS emergency response and critical thinking under pressure
• Proficient Cerner charting and documentation practices
• IV therapy and urinary catheter management
• Strong communication, time management and teamwork skills
