Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM and 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate, high-acuity care to adult patients on a busy 40-bed PCU
Monitor and titrate cardiac drips such as Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin
Interpret telemetry strips and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
Manage arterial lines and provide expert post-stent and post-pacer care
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patients with cardiac, vascular, renal, and respiratory needs
Float to MedSurg or ICU when needed, showcasing your adaptability and breadth of skills
Champion patient experience by focusing on responsiveness, clear medication education, and a healing environment

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Competency managing arterial lines and titratable drips
Strong telemetry interpretation skills
Minimum one year of recent PCU or step-down experience preferred
Ability to arrive within 30 minutes when called in from on-call status

Knowledge & Skills

Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
Safe titration of cardiac and vasoactive medications
Arterial line management and troubleshooting
Patient assessment across cardiac, vascular, renal, and respiratory diagnoses
Clear, empathetic communication with diverse cultural populations
Flexibility to float and eagerness to learn from feedback
