Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to neuro-telemetry patients including those recovering from strokes, brain injuries, and spinal surgeries
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret EKGs to ensure patient safety on a fast-paced unit
• Administer and titrate medications such as Heparin, Amiodarone, and Cardizem while closely observing patient responses
• Collaborate with a dedicated charge nurse and supportive team of aides to deliver excellent bedside care
• Float to cardiac telemetry, med-surg, and ICU overflow units as needed to support hospital-wide patient care
• Complete thorough bedside handoff reports and maintain accurate documentation in Cerner

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience
• Level 1 trauma experience strongly preferred
• Neuro experience is a plus
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam with up to two attempts
• Must demonstrate competency in sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong EKG interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
• Experience caring for trached patients, CVA, TBI, and post-spinal surgery cases
• Comfortable with titrating cardiac medications and managing patients with encephalopathy or ESRD
• Proficient with Cerner EMR and WOW documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
