Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 12.5-hour Med/Surg shifts (exact start/end times assigned by unit; schedule to be confirmed with hiring manager)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to med/surg patients
Assess and monitor patient condition; respond quickly to changes
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the care team to create and follow effective care plans
Document patient care and clinical observations in the electronic health record clearly and timely
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications and discharge plans
Support unit safety and quality initiatives — your attention to detail matters

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact RN license eligible
Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred or as required by unit
Clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-centered approach

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in patient assessment and med/surg care practices
Familiarity with IV therapy, medication administration and wound care
Comfortable using electronic health records and documenting care
Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking and time management
Ability to work collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams
