Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to medical-surgical patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and wound care according to protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe, effective care
• Monitor patient progress, recognize changes in condition, and escalate as needed
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and aftercare
• Document care accurately and timely in the electronic health record

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Louisiana RN or eligible for state licensure
• Clinical experience or strong interest in Medical-Surgical nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS/PALS preferred where applicable
• Current RN credentials in good standing with strong clinical judgment
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; diploma holders considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of med-surg nursing principles and patient assessment
• Proficient with medication administration and IV therapy
• Comfortable using electronic health records for charting and orders
• Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and time-management skills
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Team-oriented approach and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
