Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on Med Surg and Ortho units
• Manage and prioritize a typical patient assignment (unit usually 6:1 patient ratio)
• Document care accurately and efficiently using Meditech
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including PCTs and unit secretaries
• Assist with bedside procedures as needed and coordinate care with physicians
• Float to other inpatient units when required, supporting CCU and ED as needed
• Maintain a positive, can-do attitude and model teamwork to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to work in Kentucky or compact state as applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (Med Surg experience preferred)
• Comfort with Meditech documentation system
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and meet weekend scheduling requirements
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient-centered care mindset

Knowledge & Skills

• Med Surg clinical knowledge and Ortho experience a plus
• Proficiency with Meditech for documentation
• Skilled in patient assessment, medication administration, and care planning
• Ability to work with PCTs and coordinate unit-based workflows
• Familiarity with inpatient floating policies and adapting to different units
• Comfort managing typical Med Surg patient ratios and prioritizing tasks
