Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care in a busy 23-bed Emergency Department
• Perform and assist with procedures such as cardioversion, TNK administration and moderate sedation
• Monitor, triage and manage patients following ED protocols and a 4:1 patient ratio
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the Meditech EMR
• Collaborate closely with providers and the Unit-Based Council to deliver patient-centered care
• Support unit-based team members including CNCs, paramedics and PCTs to maintain smooth operations
• Participate in unit initiatives and uphold HCA-aligned policies and best practices

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (eligible to practice in Texas or holding a compact license)
• Certifications required: ALS and BLS; TNCC/ENPC or PALS as indicated
• Minimum 1 year Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience (2 years preferred)
• Comfortable with ED procedures including cardioversion, TNK and moderate sedation
• Ability to work a rotating schedule with weekend coverage and function in a team-focused environment
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to complete facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or BSN preferred)
• Active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency nursing fundamentals and triage skills
• Proficient with Meditech EMR documentation
• Experience with cardioversion, moderate sedation workflows and TNK administration
• Familiarity with common ED equipment (Welch Allyn, GE) and monitoring systems
• Excellent communication, teamwork and adaptability in a fast-paced setting
• Ability to deliver patient-focused care while maintaining safety and compliance
