Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography exams using digital mammography and tomosynthesis
• Execute advanced imaging views such as magnification and spot compression to ensure diagnostic accuracy
• Assist with and perform stereotactic biopsies and pre-surgical localizations with sterile technique
• Provide contrast enhanced mammography procedures when indicated and document findings clearly
• Position and instruct patients with compassion and attention to comfort, especially those with prior cancer treatment
• Collaborate with radiologists to highlight and communicate complex cases effectively
• Maintain MQSA-required documentation, logs, and continuing education compliance
• Operate and maintain GE Senographe Pristina equipment and document studies in Cerner/PenRad

Qualifications

• Current ARRT (R) and ARRT (M) Mammography certification required
• Must meet MQSA documentation requirements: initial 40 hours mammography training, ongoing continuing education, and required mammogram numbers (200/2 years)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• IV certification and competency in invasive/sterile procedures preferred/required for unit procedures
• 2+ years of mammography experience with strong screening and diagnostic skills
• Comfortable demonstrating cases and communicating findings to radiologists

Education

• ARRT (R) and ARRT (M) certifications (Mammography)
• Completion of MQSA-required mammography training (initial 40 hours) and continuing education
• Radiologic Technologist education (as applicable) and BLS certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in screening mammography, magnification and spot compression views
• Experience with digital mammography and digital tomosynthesis
• Familiarity with Cerner and PenRad documentation systems
• Proficiency operating GE Senographe Pristina equipment
• Strong patient positioning, image acquisition, and image quality assessment skills
• Ability to perform and assist with stereotactic biopsies and contrast enhanced mammography
• Solid understanding of MQSA standards and compliance
