Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility with dignity and respect
• Monitor and document resident condition changes, reporting concerns to nursing staff promptly
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care focused on safety and comfort
• Support meal service and feeding assistance as needed, observing dietary directions
• Help maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control policies
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families through clear, caring communication

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required) — active and in good standing
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Experience caring for older adults preferred; compassionate bedside manner required
• Ability to pass background check, TB screening, and required immunizations
• Reliable attendance and ability to work per diem shifts, including occasional weekends as needed

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant program (GNA)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of basic geriatric care and safety techniques
• Comfortable with resident transfers, mobility assistance, and fall prevention
• Good documentation and basic charting skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Understanding of infection control and standard precautions
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nursing staff
