Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients
Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and toileting
Measure and record vital signs and report changes promptly
Document care accurately and communicate updates to the nursing team
Help maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment
Support mobility and transfer assistance while using safe body mechanics
Build trusting relationships with residents and their families

Qualifications

Current CNA certification in good standing
Active or transferable state CNA license as required by Connecticut
Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
Successful background check and required immunizations or TB screening
Dependable, compassionate, and able to work effectively in a team
Ability to perform physical aspects of the role, including lifting and standing for shifts

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate required

Knowledge & Skills

Strong patient care and bedside assistance skills
Good documentation and charting habits
Ability to observe and report changes in patient condition
Effective communication with residents, families and clinical staff
Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks during shifts
